1. IntroductionThese Terms & Conditions apply to all psychological services provided by Dimitra Tsiaka (“the psychologist”). By booking a session, the client agrees to these Terms & Conditions. The psychologist adheres to the professional standards of the Netherlands Institute of Psychologists (NIP), and the AVG/GDPR.
2. 3. Services ProvidedThe psychologist offers:● Individual sessions● In-person and online video sessions● Sessions available in Greek, and EnglishA GP referral (verwijsbrief) is not required.The psychologist does not provide:● 24/7 crisis care● Emergency services● Medical or psychiatric diagnoses
4. Privacy & Data Protection (AVG/GDPR)The psychologist processes personal data in accordance with the AVG/GDPR, professional confidentiality laws, and WGBO requirements.Key principles:● Only necessary personal and health data are collected● All data are stored securely for 7 years after the last contact● Confidentiality is treated with the highest level of care● Clinical notes are protected and stored separately● Clients may request access, correction, or deletion (within legal limits)
5. ConfidentialityAll sessions are confidential. Information will only be shared with third parties if:● the client provides explicit written consent,● disclosure is legally required, or● there is a serious and immediate concern for safety.In cases involving imminent risk of harm to the client or others, or child abuse, the psychologist may disclose only the information necessary to ensure safety. The psychologist adheres to Dutch professional secrecy (beroepsgeheim) law and the NIP ethical guidelines.
6. Fees, Payments, and ReimbursementsFeesThe following rates apply to all services:● Individual session: €90● For low-income individuals, with an income lower than approximately 22,000 euros per year: €70● For non-working students and unemployed individuals: €60No financial documentation is required from the psychologist's side. The psychologist relies on the basis of trust and openness. Session fees are subject to change from time to time. Any fee changes will apply only to new clients. Clients who have already started therapy will continue to pay the fee agreed upon at the beginning of their treatment for the duration of their ongoing therapeutic process. All fees are exempt from VAT under healthcare legislation unless otherwise stated.
Payment● Clients receive an invoice on the first day of the week in which the session is scheduled.● Payment must be completed at least 24 hours prior to the session.● Sessions not paid on time are automatically cancelled.
Reimbursement● All services are privately paid.
7. Appointments, Cancellations & No-Show Policy● Appointments may be cancelled or rescheduled free of charge up to 24 hours before the session.● Cancellations within 24 hours or no-shows are charged at the full session rate.● Arriving late does not extend the session time.● The Psychologist can cancel/reschedule an appointment up to 48 hours before the scheduled time. Failure to do so will result in the psychologist providing the coming therapy session without charging the client any fees. This policy exists to respect time reserved for each client.
8. Online Sessions (Video Sessions)Clients participating in online therapy agree to:● ensure a quiet and private environment,● use secure, up-to-date devices,● maintain a stable internet connection.The psychologist uses secure, privacy-compliant platforms for video sessions.Share that Thought Therapy does not record Video Sessions and does not permit clients to make their own separate recording of a video consultation.
9. Client Responsibilities and Personal ChoicesClients agree to:● provide accurate and relevant information,● attend sessions on time,● inform the psychologist of changes in contact details or circumstances,● seek immediate help (112 or huisartsenpost) in cases of crisis or acute safety risks.The psychologist cannot respond to emergencies via email or messaging.
Therapy is a collaborative process, and clients remain responsible for their own decisions, actions, and choices during and after the therapeutic process. While therapy may support insight, growth, and positive change, outcomes cannot be guaranteed and may vary between individuals.The client is responsible for actively participating in the therapeutic process, communicating relevant information, and seeking additional support when necessary. The psychologist cannot be held responsible for decisions or actions taken by the client outside the therapeutic setting, or for outcomes resulting from choices made independently by the client.This does not affect the psychologist’s professional responsibility to provide care in accordance with applicable professional standards and legal obligations.
10. Crisis & Emergency PolicyThe psychologist does not provide:● emergency response● crisis intervention● on-call servicesIn urgent or dangerous situations, clients must contact:● 112 (emergency services)● Huisartsenpost / GP● Local crisis teams
11. Cancellation of Services by the PsychologistThe psychologist may postpone or end services if:● the therapeutic relationship is no longer effective,● safety becomes a concern,● professional boundaries are compromised,● payments are repeatedly overdue.This is always communicated respectfully and professionally.
12. Complaints Procedure In compliance with the legal requirement to provide a formal channel for concerns, the psychologist invites the client to submit any dissatisfaction regarding the services first by email at moc.liamg%40ypareht.tts, so the issue will be resolved directly. If this does not lead to a satisfactory outcome, the client can submit a formal complaint using the NIP complaint form [Klachtenformulier - NIP]. The client may also choose to contact NIP directly at any point in the process for further guidance, or to lodge a formal complaint.
13. LiabilityThe psychologist is insured for professional liability (beroepsaansprakelijkheidsverzekering) through Balens. Without prejudice to the scope of this insurance, the following limitations apply:Indirect or consequential damagesThe psychologist is not liable for indirect or consequential damages, including but not limited to loss of income, missed opportunities, or other forms of follow-on damage.Client decisions and actionsThe psychologist is not liable for decisions, behaviours, or actions undertaken by the client on the basis of information exchanged during sessions. The client remains at all times responsible for their own choices and actions.Technical issues in online consultationsThe psychologist is not liable for technical malfunctions, disruptions, or limitations that may affect online consultations.Temporary unavailabilityThe psychologist is not liable for temporary unavailability due to illness, force majeure, or other unforeseen circumstances.Legal limitationsThese exclusions and limitations apply only insofar as permitted under Dutch law. Where such exclusions are not legally allowed, the psychologist’s liability is limited to the amount paid out under the applicable Balens liability insurance policy.
14. Intellectual PropertyAll written materials, documents, and exercises provided during treatment remain the intellectual property of the psychologist and may not be copied, distributed, or shared without prior written consent.
15. Changes to Terms & ConditionsThese Terms & Conditions may be updated when necessary.The latest version is always shared on the website.Continued use of services implies acceptance of the updated Terms.
16. Applicable LawThese Terms & Conditions are governed exclusively by Dutch law. Any disputes will be handled through Dutch legal procedures.
17.
