Therapy for Students
*The practice offers sliding-scale for Students seeking therapy!
Being a student is often described as an exciting and transformative time in life. It can be a period of growth, discovery, and new opportunities! At the same time, it can also bring uncertainty, pressure, and emotional challenges that are not always visible to others. Many students find themselves navigating academic demands, questions about their future, changing relationships, financial concerns, and the process of becoming more independent. For international students, these challenges may be accompanied by adapting to a new country, culture, or support system. There is no "right" way to experience student life. While some people thrive in this environment, others may find themselves feeling overwhelmed, anxious, isolated, or unsure of themselves. Often, these experiences coexist with moments of achievement and enjoyment, making it difficult to understand or talk about what is going on. Therapy offers a space to pause and reflect on these experiences. It can help you make sense of difficult emotions, understand recurring patterns, and develop ways of coping that feel authentic and sustainable. Students seek therapy for many different reasons, including:● Anxiety and excessive worry● Academic pressure and stress● Perfectionism and fear of failure● Low self-esteem or self-doubt● Loneliness and social difficulties● Relationship challenges● Difficulties adjusting to university life● Questions about identity, purpose, or the future● Feelings of sadness, overwhelm, or emotional exhaustion In our work together, there is no expectation that you should have everything figured out. Therapy is not about achieving perfection or finding immediate answers. Rather, it is an opportunity to explore your thoughts, emotions, and experiences in a supportive and non-judgmental environment.
